Some people complain that NGOs are not efficient, while some say they are breeders of corruption.  Some even say they are pointless. But we still see them actively doing good to our neighbours.

So the question remains: Is NGO or Non-Profit Organization the only way to do good?

How about Social Entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurship is the use entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change.  As it is a for-profit organization, it enjoy numerous benefits such as:

* Independence rather than dependence for the disadvantage

Residential Redevelopment Project in Orchard Area

Brief:

This deal involves buying a piece of prime land in Orchard Area, Singapore. Land size is minimal but enough to hold two buildings. The land currently holds two old buildings, the land had been approved for residential redevelopment.

Mode of investments:

Investors can consider
1. buying land, and resale to developers, or
2. buying land and partner with developers, or
3. buying land, build, and sell individual land units

Investment Amount:

SGD 100-200 millions depending on investment choices

Risk:

It is possible the Real Estate may go down a little more in this recession however, Orchard area rarely have land coming up, so investors are advised to have holding power for the up-swing.

2007 Valuation with the old properties is worth almost 200 millions. This suggest that building is going to worth a lot more with new buildings and recovery of the market.
